About AIMS

Explore the prospects of integrating digital technologies into the museum space at our International Art and Innovation in Museums Seminar (AIMs-2026).

While focused on innovation and digital transformation in museums, the seminar is dedicated to scenography, storytelling, and visitor experience.

Our goal is to explore how new tools reshape exhibitions and perception.

The seminar is held in two locations: Novi Sad (Serbia) and Saint Petersburg (Russia).

The working languages of the seminar are English, Serbian, and Russian.

Main themes

Scenography

issues and methods for developing exhibition visual representation concepts; working with lighting and spatial composition; color theory within exhibition design tasks.

Storytelling

selecting narrative language; working with exhibits; curator and designer communication; challenges of effective information transfer.

Interactive Journey

integration of interactive elements into exhibitions (AR, VR); creating routes and scenarios to engage visitors; developing interactive installations; creating visual and sound effects.

Linguistic Technologies in Museums

advancing multilingual access and inclusive communication; integrating AI-based translation and interactive language tools into exhibitions; supporting the preservation and presentation of heritage.

Take Part as a Speaker!

There are two ways to join the AIMS seminar as a speaker:

Case Track

(without paper)

Presentations of a project or exhibition, including exploratory or applied creative work


Formats

Large Talk: completed or mature projects,
⏱ 20 min + 5 min Q&A
Short Talk: emerging ideas or early-stage concepts,
⏱ 10 min + 2 min Q&A


Submit title and abstract (200-500 words)
by e-mail,
the review will be done within 2 weeks

Presentations on topics aligned with the Springer CCIS themes

All contributions from both tracks will be reviewed by the committee.

The seminar is held offline.
Online participation may be considered individually by sending request on seminar’s email.

Proceedings

Communications in Computer and Information Science book cover

The scientific track of the AIMS seminar is part of the Internet and Modern Society (IMS 2026) conference. Therefore, research papers accepted for presentation in this track will be published in the IMS proceedings indexed in Scopus. Proceedings of IMS 2025 are available here.


We invite our speakers to present research papers developed on the basis of their conference presentations. Submitted manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and correspond to the thematic scope of the seminar and the CCIS series.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review.

Papers must be submitted and published in English. This is due to the international scope of the seminar and the requirements of the Springer publication series.
Submissions are made through Microsoft CMT.
